The Spirit Behind the Gathering

Honoring the life and legacy of
Chipa Lone Eagle Wolfe

For decades, Chipa Lone Eagle Wolfe brought culture, education, and heart to Cherokee County.

He believed in “edu-tainment” — blending powerful Native history with storytelling, humor, and hands-on experience so families could learn while they celebrated.

He stood for tradition.

He stood for animals.

He stood for sacred places.

He stood for people who needed a voice.

The Mother’s Day Powwow continues because of the foundation he built — one rooted in respect, community, and courage.

“There are certain people who we think are always going to be here.
My father is one of those people.”   — Cecilia Wolfe

Your spirit will always be in the center of our Gathering Circle.
